MOSCOW. Jan 18 (Interfax-AVN) - Six naval ships and two civilian vessels are on their way to the area where the pilots of the Sukhoi Su-34 planes, which crashed in the Far East, ejected, the Russian Defense Ministry's information and mass communications department said.
"Six ships and vessels of the Pacific Fleet are on their way to the area where the pilots of the Sukhoi Su-34 planes ejected for a search and rescue operation. Another two civilian vessels, which are in direct vicinity, are on their way to the area where the pilots ejected and they will be involved in the rescue operation," the department said.
The rescue operation is taking place in difficult weather conditions, with strong wind and wave height of 4 degrees, the Defense Ministry said.
