Cell sponsoring terrorists in Syria neutralized in southern Russia, 3 cell members arrested - FSB

MOSCOW. Jan 21 (Interfax) - The Federal Security Service (FSB) has neutralized a cell, which operated in southern Russia on the orders from Syria to sponsor the ISIL terrorist organization (banned in Russia), the FSB public relations center said.

"A cell, which was operating in the Krasnodar Territory, the Republic of Dagestan, and the Republic of Adygea, on the orders from Syria and raised and transferred funds to the ISIL international terrorist organization (banned in Russia), has been busted," the agency said in a statement seen by Interfax on Monday.

Following orders from emissaries of the international terrorist organization, "members of the radical cell were raising funds under the disguise of charity and transferring them to support their contacts in the Syrian Arab Republic," the statement said.
