MOSCOW. Jan 22 (Interfax-AVN) - Russia will implement important military-technical cooperation projects with African countries in 2019, Rosoboronexport Director General Alexander Mikheyev said.
"For Russia's military-technical cooperation system, 2019 should be 'The Year of Africa' and witness the implementation of a series of important projects with countries on that continent," Rosoboronexport quoted Mikheyev as saying in connection with the upcoming exhibition Shield Africa 2019 in Cote d'Ivoire.
Rosoboronexport will have a vast business program at Shield Africa 2019 and will show current and potential foreign customers a broad range of weapons and military hardware for counterterrorist and special police operations, the press service said.
"Ground and airborne vehicles for transportation of special forces and their gear have the most potential in African countries. These include BTR-80A and BTR-82A armored personnel carriers, infantry combat vehicles, Tigr armored vehicles, Mil Mi-35M transport-and-combat helicopters, and Mi-17 military transport helicopters," it said.
