Surgut-Moscow flight passenger who demanded that plane fly to Afghanistan detained - source (Part 2)

MOSCOW/KHANTY-MANSIISK. Jan 22 (Interfax) - The passenger on a Surgut-Moscow flight who demanded that the plane fly to Afghanistan has been detained, an informed source told Interfax.

"He has been detained. No weapons were found on him," the source said.

It was reported earlier that the plane had landed in Khanty-Mansiisk.

City emergency services have been rushed to the airport, and the police have secured the terminal, the television channel Rossiya 24 (VGTRK) reported.

According to the channel, Flight SU1515 has 75 people on board, including five children and seven crewmembers.
