MOSCOW. Jan 22 (Interfax-AVN) - Two crewmembers were killed and two others survived the crash-landing of a Tupolev Tu-22M3 long-range bomber in the Murmansk region on Tuesday, the Defense Ministry said.
"A Tu-22M3 aircraft crash-landed after flying into a snow shower during a planned training flight in the Murmansk region on January 22, 2019," the ministry said.
"The aircraft was destroyed as a result of a hard touchdown," it said.
"Reports from the scene indicate that two pilots have been taken to a medical institution where they are being provided with the necessary aid. Two other crewmembers died," it said.
The plane was not carrying weapons, the ministry said.
