KOROLYOV (Moscow region). Jan 24 (Interfax-AVN) - The combat use of the Kh-101 cruise missile in Syria was useful to the Tactical Missiles Corporation, Tactical Missiles Corporation General Director Boris Obnosov told reporters.
"All tests, even those conducted on our firing ranges, bring something new. And in a real situation, in a new theater of military action, of course, they give new food for thought," Obnosov said.
"No mathematical or semi-natural modeling, not even tests at firing ranges, gives a full idea of products' capabilities. Application in Syria was naturally very useful to us," he said.
The Russian Defense Ministry said earlier that Tupolev Tu-160 and Tu-95MS jets were being equipped with Kh-101 missiles. According to official information, the Kh-101's maximum range is 4,500 km. The Kh-102 is a version of the missile with a thermonuclear warhead.
