Kyiv court acquits Yanukovych of abetting encroachment on Ukraine's territorial integrity

KYIV. Jan 24 (Interfax) - Obolonsky district court in Kyiv has found Ukraine's ex-president Viktor Yanukovych not guilty of abetting the encroachment on the territorial integrity of Ukraine which led to deaths or other grave consequences.

The decision is contained in a court ruling read out on Thursday.

"To find [Yanukovych] not guilty of the charge, to acquit under Article 27 clause 5 and article 110 clause 3 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code due to an absence of evidence that the accused's actions amounted to a criminal offense," Judge Vladyslav Devyatko said.
