Peskov describes reports of Russian bodyguards for Maduro as conspiracy theory, says to ignore fake news

MOSCOW. Jan 28 (Interfax) - Reports alleging that a number of Russian citizens have gone to Venezuela to guard President Nicolas Maduro are a conspiracy theory and should be ignored, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.

"You know, these reports are absolutely part of a conspiracy theory," he told journalists on Monday.

Asked to clarify whether this means that Russians are not guarding Maduro, Peskov replied, "You can see guards everywhere in Venezuela, you can see who is guarding Maduro. Just think logically yourself."

"Just don't react to hearsay," he said.
