MOSCOW. Jan 29 (Interfax) - Russia and other responsible members of the international community will do all they can to support President Nicolas Maduro in defense of the Venezuelan Constitution and constitutional methods of settling the crisis, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at a press conference on Tuesday.
"We understand that, in simple words, the United States took the bit between their teeth and openly took a course toward toppling the regime. However, it is still necessary to defend international law by every available means," Lavrov said.
"We and other responsible members of the international community will do everything we can to support the lawful government of President Maduro in defense of the Venezuelan Constitution and those methods of settlement that fall within the bounds of constitutionality," he said.
