Arashukov tried to walk out of Federation Council hall before detention - source

MOSCOW. Jan 30 (Interfax) - Russian Federation Council member Rauf Arashukov did not provide any explanations regarding the charges brought against him by law enforcement agencies and attempted to walk out of the session hall during Prosecutor General Yury Chaika's presentation on Wednesday, an informed source told Interfax.

"He declined to speak and attempted to walk out," the source said.

Speaker Valentina Matviyenko asked Arashukov to stay, saying there would be questions and statements.

Arashukov was deprived of his immunity from prosecution and taken into custody in the Federation Council session hall on Wednesday.
