MOSCOW. Jan 30 (Interfax) - Investigators have charged detained Federation Council member Rauf Arashukov with participating in a criminal group, murder, and pressuring a witness, and his father Raul is suspected of creating that criminal group and fraud, Investigative Committee spokesperson Svetlana Petrenko said.
"Rauf Arashukov is charged with participating in a criminal group (Part 3, Article 210 of the Russian Criminal Code), murder (Part 2, Article 105), and pressuring a witness (Part 4, Article 309)," Petrenko told Interfax on Wednesday.
His father "is suspected of creating a criminal group with abuse of office (Part 3, Article 210 of the Russian Criminal Code) and fraud (Part 4, Article 159)," she said.
"According to the files of the criminal case, he is implicated in stealing over 30 billion rubles' worth of natural gas from Gazprom (MOEX: GAZP) over several years," Petrenko said.
