TVER. Jan 30 (Interfax) - Law enforcement agencies have finished searching all of the 24 buildings in Tver that received bomb threats, and the reports were all false, Tver region governor Igor Rudenya told journalists on Wednesday.
"It was established that the anonymous reports of a terrorist nature were sent from foreign IP addresses. They have now been blocked by the authorized bodies of the Tver region," Rudenya said.
He thanked the Federal Security Service and the Interior and the Emergency Situations Ministries.
"All checks of the buildings and adjacent areas were carried out very professionally. We saw yet again that there definitely needs to be liability for spreading this kind of information," Rudenya said.
On January 30, starting at 9:56 a.m., 24 administrative buildings and social institutions in Tver received similar emails about explosive devices, the regional government's press service told Interfax.
"Law enforcement bodies immediately began checking the reports. The region's security, police, Russian Guard officers, and emergency teams removed around 8,000 staff and visitors from the buildings," a spokesperson said.
