MOSCOW. Feb 7 (Interfax) - Russia will respond to any attempts at its military deterrence, but will not initiate anything, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said at a press conference on Thursday.
"We should be expecting measures aimed at military deterrence of Russia. These measures will be very harsh. We will respond to them, but will never initiate anything," Ryabkov said.
"Colleagues who are pondering ways to hurt Russia as much as they can in this situation should understand that," he said.
The details of Russia's response "have been adequately spelled out": the response will be given if the other side does not "show the restraint and responsibility required under these circumstances," Ryabkov said.
