MOSCOW. Feb 7 (Interfax) - The Kurgan regional police chief, Oleg Ilinykh, could head up the anti-extremism unit of the Russian Interior Ministry, an informed source told Interfax.
Ilinykh is "the likeliest candidate for this job," the source said.
Interfax does not have an official confirmation.
Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev said late last year that the ministry's anti-extremism chief Timur Valiulin had tendered resignation.
