MOSCOW. Feb 8 (Interfax) - The National Guard exposed over 25,000 violations of the safety rules at the country's fuel and energy facilities last year, according to Eduard Goryachev, the agency's head of state control and licensing work.
"Over 25,000 violations of the mandatory requirements for guarding Fuel and Energy Complex facilities were detected last year, leading to over 17 million rubles in fines," Goryachev told a press conference on Friday.
About 3,000 inspections were carried out and almost 2,000 orders issued to address the failings, 54 of which were challenged in courts but found to be legitimate, justified and compulsory.
"Industry officials were issued with 581 court orders imposing administrative fines totaling over 17 million rubles for violating safety and anti-terrorism regulations at Fuel and Energy Complex facilities (Article 20.30 of the Code of Administrative Offenses), " Goryachev said.
