Afghan authorities' complaint about Taliban's Moscow visit shows double standards - Kabulov

MOSCOW. Feb 12 (Interfax) - Afghan President Ashraf Ghani 's touchy reaction to the intra-Afghan meeting in Moscow proves that he is desperate, the Russian Foreign Ministry's Second Asian Department Director Zamir Kabulov said at a press conference in Moscow on Tuesday.

"As for the statement made by Ashraf Ghani in regard to the intra-Afghan meeting in Moscow, [...] his touchy remarks give away his desperation," Kabulov said.

The complaint, filed by Kabul to the UN in connection with the Moscow visit of members of the Taliban (banned in Russia), blacklisted by the United Nations, is an example of "double standards," he said.

"For some reason, the Afghan president said nothing when Taliban members visited Tashkent, Indonesia, and Abu Dhabi," Kabulov said.
