MOSCOW. Feb 13 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo have discussed Syria on the phone, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
"The foreign policy chiefs have conferred on the situation in Syria and agreed on the need to continue the bilateral dialogue for the sake of fulfilling UN Security Council Resolution 2254," the ministry said.
"They have also exchanged opinions on the recent contacts between representatives of the Russian Foreign Ministry and the U.S. Department of State on the situation surrounding the Korean Peninsula and the effort to promote a settlement in Afghanistan," it said.
