Putin, Erdogan to discuss situation in Idlib, where terrorists are strengthening positions - Lavrov

SOCHI. Feb 13 (Interfax) - The issue regarding the Idlib de-escalation area will be discussed in the bilateral meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Thursday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.

"President Putin will have bilateral meetings with President Erdogan and [Iranian] President [Hassan] Rouhani before the trilateral summit tomorrow. And of course, the issue concerning the Idlib area will be one of the main ones in the meeting with President Erdogan because everyone understands that we cannot let Jabhat al-Nusra [banned in Russia] continue to grow stronger in this area, where it has practically tripled the territories it controls," Lavrov said at a meeting in Sochi on Wednesday.
