MOSCOW. Feb 13 (Interfax) - The Palestinian group Islamic Jihad (banned in Russia) strongly opposes the United States' Middle East settlement plan known as "the deal of the century," Mohammed al-Hendi, a member of the political bureau of the radical movement, told a press conference in Moscow on Wednesday.
"We are prepared to fight against all plans which aim to force 'the deal of the century' on us and thus bury the Palestinian issue. And we will fight against these plans using every means at our disposal," al-Hendi, who attended a three-day meeting between representatives of various Palestinian groups and movements in Moscow, said.
"We want restoration of the unity of the people of Palestine, for which necessary foundations need to be created," the Islamic Jihad activist said.
The necessary foundations envisage "the inclusion of the Islamic Jihad and HAMAS in the Palestine Liberation Organization," he said. "They need to be accepted there in accordance with the agreements adopted in Egypt," al-Hendi said.
