SOCHI. Feb 13 (Interfax) - Russia will do everything it can to help the Syrian government free the Idlib province from terrorists, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at a press briefing in Sochi on Wednesday.
"I confirm that we will do everything we can to help the Syrian government and army free their territory and will be supporting actions of the Syrian army required by international humanitarian law," Lavrov said.
"For instance, we will not allow what the Western coalition has done in al-Raqqah to happen again. Everyone saw the way Aleppo and Eastern Ghouta were liberated. Thousands of people have returned to those regions. Meanwhile, [damaged homes] in al-Raqqah have yet to be cleared of mines. Of course, we won't allow that kind of thing to happen. The Syrian government is totally against scenarios such as these," Lavrov said.
