Rise in error range prompts disabling of GLONASS satellite for maintenance

MOSCOW. Feb 13 (Interfax-AVN) - One of the satellites of the GLONASS-M system has been temporarily disabled for a maintenance check.

The GLONASS-M 731 was disabled for technical servicing on Wednesday, the Information and Analysis Center for Positioning, Navigation, and Timing said. According to the differential-correction and monitoring system, the vehicle displayed an error outside the acceptable range.

The current GLONASS group in orbit consists of 26 satellites; 23 of them are active, one is a backup, another is being tested, and the third is undergoing maintenance.
