MOSCOW. Feb 14 (Interfax) - The proposed imposition of new U.S. sanctions on Russia cannot be taken seriously, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said at a press briefing on Thursday.
"I cannot bring myself to speak seriously about these new deliberations of U.S. lawmakers, because people who make laws are supposed to be experts on both domestic and international legislation," Zakharova said.
"It is simply impossible to speak about this [the anti-Russian sanctions] seriously. In all seriousness, we should ask how and when U.S. society will be assessing its own crimes committed on the world stage," she said.
