SOCHI. Feb 18 (Interfax-AVN) - The Kalashnikov Concern is expected to showcase its developments in the combat robotics sphere at the Army 2019 forum, Kalashnikov General Director Vladimir Dmitriyev told Interfax.
"We show all new things at the Army exhibition. This year, Army 2019 will be held in June, and we will show some headway [in this sphere] there," Dmitriyev said, when asked about the new models of combat robots developed by the company.
The Kalashnikov Concern is working on the Soratnik combat robot. It can be used as a vehicle for fire support, reconnaissance, munitions and fuel supply and evacuation of the wounded.
Its weight is less than seven tonnes and speed is up to 40 kilometer per hour. The robot remote operation range, if there is direct radio visibility, is up to 10 kilometers.
The robot's combat module can have various types of weapons, in particular, 7.62-mm and 12.7-mm guns, an AG-17A 30-mm grenade launcher, or a 40-mm automatic grenade launcher.
The Kalashnikov Concern tested the Soratnik at low temperatures and in a team with infantry, however, according to earlier reports, the serial production of the robot is not planned. Design solutions of the Soratnik robot are expected to be used for the development of other robots.
