Venezuelan army ready to protect country - deputy foreign minister

MOSCOW. Feb 22 (Interfax) - The Venezuelan Armed Forces are ready to guarantee the country's security without external interference, Venezuelan Deputy Foreign Minister Yvan Gil said on Friday.

"The armed forces of Venezuela, the people of Venezuela and the institutions of Venezuela currently have everything they need to protect peace and security in the territory of our country [...] Our country is stable, the armed forces are ready to guarantee the security of our country without the need for any outside interference," he told reporters in Moscow, when asked by Interfax whether Caracas needs any military assistance.

"We are certain that no military incidents will happen in the territory of our country," Gil said.
