MOSCOW. March 1 (Interfax) - The ban on Russian airlines flying over Pakistan has been extended until 11 a.m. Moscow time on March 4, a source in a Russian airline told Interfax.

The Russian aviation authorities have wired a relevant message, he said.

A source in another Russian airline confirmed this information.

On Wednesday, Russian airlines were notified about a full or partial ban on flying over India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan amid an escalation of the Indian-Pakistani conflict. The ban was initially imposed until the evening of February 28 and was later extended until the morning of March 1.

The airlines Aeroflot (MOEX: AFLT), AZUR Air, NordWind, and iFly run flights to Southeast Asia via Pakistan. Most of these are chartered.
