ASTANA. March 12 (Interfax) - The Armed Forces of Kazakhstan have begun a large-scale comprehensive inspection of the Altyn Zhebe (Golden Arrow) special forces involving Air Force aircraft, the Defense Ministry stated.
"The main aims of the inspection are to test the combat readiness of the special-forces units and their ability to accomplish any combat mission within set timeframe, and to raise the level of field skills and professional training of all troop categories," the ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
During the inspection, air force aircraft will redeploy troops "for the purpose of preparing the units to accomplish training missions amid mountainous terrain at nighttime," such as jumps onto a mountainous area.
The inspection will continue for a month, the ministry said.
