BAIKONUR. March 13 (Interfax) - The Russian cosmonauts Alexey Ovchinin and Oleg Kononenko are planning to perform a spacewalk from the International Space Station on May 29.
"The spacewalk is planned for May 29," Ovchinin told a pre-flight press conference at Baikonur on Wednesday.
Asked whether he will advise the NASA astronaut Christina Koch, who is also to perform a spacewalk, Ovchinin said: "Most likely it will be not me but Christina advising me on what to do and how, since I have no experience of going out into outer space. Christina and Ann [McClain] will go out earlier."
During the Russian spacewalk Koch will be on hand aboard the ISS, he said.
For her part, Koch said that she was looking forward to working in the outer space.
