Russia's Tu-22M3 bombers perform multi-hour flight over neutral waters of Black Sea (Part 2)

MOSCOW. March 14 (Interfax) - Two Russian Tupolev Tu-22M3 long-range bombers have performed a flight over the neutral waters of the Black Sea, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Thursday.

"During the flight the crews of long-range bombers have flown about 4,500 kilometers for over five hours," the Defense Ministry said.

"Pilots of the Long-Range Aviation perform regular flights over the neutral waters of the Arctic, the North Atlantic, the Black and Caspian Seas and the Pacific Ocean," the Defense Ministry said.

Aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces perform all flights in strict compliance with international rules of using the airspace, the ministry said.

The Tupolev Tu-22M3 long-range supersonic strategic bomber is designed for hitting maritime and ground targets up to 2,200 kilometers away from their permanent airfields with guided missiles and aviation bombs.
