MOSCOW. March 19 (Interfax) - Russian Special Presidential Representative for Afghanistan Zamir Kabulov has announced that he will visit Washington on March 20-21 for consultations with his U.S. counterpart Zalmay Khalilzad.
"Yes, I will be in Washington on March 20-21," Kabulov told Interfax on Tuesday.
Kabulov and Khalilzad have already met twice.
The U.S. special representative for Afghanistan reconciliation visited Moscow in early December 2018. Kabulov and Khalilzad held talks in Ankara in February 2019.
The upcoming consultations will come shortly after Khalilzad's talks with representatives of the Taliban movement (banned in Russia) in Doha, where both sides said that progress had been made in the talks.
