Georgian PM hopes Georgia-NATO rapprochement to be even more result-oriented

TBILISI. March 21 (Interfax) - The relations between Georgia and NATO have never been at such a high level as of now, Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze said.

"We pin very high hopes on the year of 2019. We hope that our rapprochement with NATO will be even more result-oriented," Bakhtadze said on the air on Facebook on Wednesday.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg will pay a visit to Georgia in the next few days, he said.

"The NATO secretary general's visit is another indicator that the relations between Georgia and NATO have never been at such a high level," Bakhtadze said.

Stoltenberg will come to Georgia on March 24. On the next day, as the Georgian Defense Ministry has said earlier, the NATO secretary general will visit the Georgia-NATO Joint Training and Evaluation Center (JTEC), where the NATO-GEO Exercise 2019 international drill is underway on March 18-29. Servicemen from 24 NATO countries and the alliance's partners are taking part in the drill.
