KHIMKI (Moscow Region). March 21 (Interfax) - Roscosmos has received funds allocated for the construction of the second phase at the Vostochny Cosmodrome and works will begin in late April, corporation head Dmitry Rogozin told reporters.
"We secured necessary financing yesterday. The lifelines of budgetary funds were made available in terms of opening the Stage II construction at Vostochny Cosmodrome," Rogozin told reporters during his visit to NPO Lavochkin.
"Today, we are close to finalizing things concerning the drafting of a government directive on the start of these works, on the formation of the sole contractor. I hope that as early as late April - early May, we will start earthwork and concreting of the launch pad," he said.
"Therefore we believe we can do it on time to be able to launch heavy missiles [from the launch site] as early as 2023," Rogozin said.
