KAZAN. March 22 (Interfax) - The Russian long-haul aircraft market needs 860 Irkut MC-21 airliners, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov said.
"The flagship project, for which we all have high hopes, is to take the MC-21 to the market. The amount in Russia alone, the demand for this plane, is some 860 planes," Borisov told reporters on Friday following a visit to the Alabuga special economic zone.
"Of course, it is important for us to complete the work on getting a certificate for this model of plane and arrange for serial production on time," he said.
