KYIV. March 27 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has stated that reinstatement of the political dialogue between Kyiv and Moscow depends on solution of the problem of Donbas and Crimea.
"We will resume the political dialogue with Russia only when the occupation ends, the forces of occupation leave the occupied territories of Donbas and Crimea, the war stops, and Ukrainian political prisoners, including Ukrainian sailors, are released," Poroshenko said in the ICTV Svoboda Slova program aired on Tuesday.
According to Poroshenko, this stance is shared by "an absolute majority of Ukrainians and true partners of Ukraine."
He noted there would be no observers from Russia in the Ukrainian presidential election of March 31.
"That was an absolutely correct decision. [...] It gained the support of the people of Ukraine. An occupying country cannot send its observers to assess the election in Ukraine. That's absurd," Poroshenko said.
Poroshenko is running for reelection on March 31.
