Moscow intends to develop military-technical cooperation with Bishkek - Putin (Part 2)

BISHKEK. March 28 (Interfax) - Russia and Kyrgyzstan intend to further develop military and military-technical cooperation, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"Mutual interest in further comprehensive strengthening of the relations in the political, cultural, humanitarian spheres and other areas, including military-technical and military cooperation, was confirmed during the talks," Putin told reporters after the Russian-Kyrgyz talks.

According to Putin, the Russian base in Kyrgyzstan makes a considerable contribution to the strengthening of the republic's defense capability: "Its [the base's] presence is an important factor for security and stability in Central Asia," he said.
