MOSCOW. March 29 (Interfax) - The Steregushchy, Boiky, and Stoiky corvettes in interaction with Maritime Aviation aircraft have destroyed cruise missiles and aircraft of the simulated enemy at the drills in the Baltic Sea.
"A mass attack of warplanes and cruise missiles of the simulated enemy has been fought off by the joint gunfire," the Baltic Fleet said in a statement released on Thursday.
The crews of three Baltic Fleet corvettes in interaction with Sukhoi Su-24M and Su-30SM aircraft of the fleet's Maritime Aviation have carried out "a number of joint trainings to detect aerial targets of the simulated enemy by means of electronic warfare and destroy them using all types of ship-based artillery guns." "100mm and 30mm artillery guns were fired," the headquarters of the Baltic Fleet said.
SAB-250 fluorescent air bombs, which a Su-24 frontline bomber of the Baltic Fleet's Maritime Aviation has placed, were used as aerial targets, the statement said.
