Use of missile systems drilled in southern Russia

MOSCOW. March 29 (Interfax) - The personnel of military units in several regions of Russia, including Crimea, fulfilled the norms of common missile use, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a report on its website Friday.

"Fire control was arranged from command posts of formations in five regions: Dagestan, North Ossetia, Rostov region, Crimea and Stavropol territory as well as from the Black and Caspian Seas," the report said.

"In a single scenario of tactical circumstances, rocket and artillery formations, as well as vessels, tactical aviation, and air defense units fulfilled over 900 norms," it said.

"Over 5,000 servicemen from combat units and crews fulfilled some 500 firing tasks, over 300 of them in combat firing," the report said.

According to the report, the performance of combat training tasks involved over 500 pieces of armaments, including Iskander-M short-range missile systems and ships armed with Kalibr cruise missiles.
