LPR reports decline in Ukrainian army's attacks

LUHANSK. April 1 (Interfax) - The number of the Ukrainian army's attacks on the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) has reduced amid the Ukrainian presidential election, according to LPR militia spokesman Yakov Osadchy.

"Given the presidential election in Ukraine, the enemy has reduced the number of attacks on the contact line," Osadchy told reporters.

According to Osadchy, two attacks by the Ukrainian army were seen in the past 24 hours in the vicinity of Lozove and Smile.

"More than 100 shells of various sorts have been fired at the republic," he said.

"I reaffirm that the militia of the Luhansk People's Republic is strictly complying with the Minsk Agreements. We remain open to dialogue and a peaceful resolution of the conflict," Osadchy said.
