MOSCOW. April 1 (Interfax-AVN) - Russia will display over 350 exhibits at the LAAD 2019 defense and security exhibition in Brazil, Rosoboronexport said in a statement on Monday.
"The Russian exposition comprises booths of Rosoboronexport and Tecmash. It demonstrates about 350 exhibits. Rosoboronexport is presenting over 60 samples of weapons and military hardware for all branches of the armed forces in Rio de Janeiro this year," the statement said.
These include models of the Orlan-10E unmanned aerial aircraft, Kalashnikov rifles AK-12, AK-15, and the 200th series, Sarsar and Karakurt-E corvettes, the BT-3F armored personnel carrier, the Ilyushin Il-76MD090A(E) military transport aircraft, and the Orion-E reconnaissance drone.
"Russia has been carrying out military-technical cooperation with Brazil for 25 years. The country is one of Rosoboronexport's priorities in Latin America. Defense and law enforcement agencies of the region are well aware of the reliability and ergonomic properties of Mil Mi-17 and Mi-35M helicopters, armored vehicles, air defense systems, and small arms," the company quoted Rosoboronexport General Director Alexander Mikheyev as saying.
Rostec head Sergei Chemezov said, for his part, that Russia was planning a number of joint projects with Latin American countries in the fields of "aviation, communications, and supply of trucks and energy equipment."
