YEREVAN. April 1 (Interfax) - Representatives from the Armenian Defense Ministry will hold talks at the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC) in Moscow on April 1-3.

The talks will be held in accordance with the protocol of the Russian-Armenian intergovernmental commission for military-technical cooperation, the Armenian Defense Ministry said.

In early February Armenian Defense Minister David Tonoyan held meeting and talks with Russian counterpart Sergei Shoigu, FSMTC chief Dmitry Shugayev, Rostec chief Sergei Chemezov and Russian defense industry executives.

In the same month Tonoyan announced plans to continue buying Russian warplanes. "We will not limit ourselves to four fighters," he said.

Interfax reported that Armenia had bought four multirole fighters Sukhoi Su-30SM from Russia. According to the Kommersant daily, the four aircraft are due to be delivered in 2020.

Armenia is Russia's ally in the Collective Security Treaty Organization and hosts a Russian military base.

It was reported that Moscow had granted Yerevan a state loan to buy Russian weapons and equipment.

Armenia is the first foreign buyer of the export variant of the Russian short-range missile system Iskander-M.
