Twenty Topol missile launchers rolled out for exercise in Tver region

MOSCOW. April 2 (Interfax) - Strategic missile troops based in Bologoye district, Tver region, have moved around 20 Topol mobile ICBM launchers as part of an exercise in the region in the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry stated.

"During the exercise the strategic missile troops practice moving missile systems onto combat-patrol routes, changing field positions, organizing camouflage and combat guard," the ministry said.

The exercise is distinct in "its high intensity of maneuvering, the wide range of tasks involving the use of promising weapon models and assessing the Bologoye unit's readiness to re-arm," it said.

"All in all, the exercise will involve over 400 units of oversized equipment, including Topol launchers, and around 4,000 troops."
