MOSCOW. April 3 (Interfax) - Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has confirmed preparations for a meeting between the Russian and Estonian presidents, Vladimir Putin and Kersti Kaljulaid, due on April 18.
"Yes, we have received a relevant request, and this meeting is now being planned and prepared for," Peskov told the press on Wednesday.
The Estonian president's press secretary Mailin Aasmae told Interfax earlier that Estonia had asked Russia for a meeting between President Kersti Kaljulaid and President Vladimir Putin during Kaljulaid's visit to Moscow on April 18.
Kaljulaid was intending to visit Moscow for the opening of the Estonian embassy following its renovation.
The last visit of an Estonian leader to Moscow was that of President Toomas Hendrik Ilves, who went to St. Petersburg in 2011 for the consecration ceremony of the Jaani Church.
