Kremlin does not link violations in Roscosmos to Rogozin's activity

MOSCOW. April 9 (Interfax) - Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has described as not quite right the link between violations in Roscosmos uncovered by the Russian Prosecutor General's Office and the activity of incumbent Roscosmos head Dmitry Rogozin.

"This [investigation of violations] is being done by law enforcement agencies. That's for starters. Secondly, Mr. Rogozin has been in charge of Roscosmos for slightly less than a year," Peskov told the press on Tuesday in response to the request for comment on the statement of the Prosecutor General's Office regarding embezzlement in Roscosmos and other state corporations.

"On the whole, there is no doubt that the activity of such big, systemic corporations is under scrutiny," he said.

Peskov said it would be wrong to speak about Rogozin personally.

"If [the attention] is given personally to Rogozin, I believe this is not quite right because, as a rule, such probes into corporate activity are retrospective and cover a rather long period of time. Yet again Rogozin has been in charge of the agency for less than a year," Peskov said.
