NUR-SULTAN. April 26 (Interfax) - Talks on Syria in the Astana Format have a substantial potential which the international community needs to use and will be continued, Russian Special Presidential Representative for Syria Alexander Lavrentyev said.

"The Astana Format, to rephrase that well-known statement of the Soviet times, lived, lives and will live. It has a solid potential which the international community should use, and we are ready for that," Lavrentyev said at a press conference following the meeting as part of the Astana peace process in the Kazakh capital on Friday.

"Our actions are targeted, verified and coordinated not only with opposing sides, but also with other countries involved in the conflict," he said.
