MOSCOW. April 29 (Interfax) - Russia's FSB (Federal Security Service) has said it detained seven members of a cell of the ISIL international terrorist group, which is outlawed in Russia.
"As a result of search and investigative activities, seven members of the terrorist organization have been detained, and fire arms and ammunition seized, alongside communication devices, electronic data storage devices, and extremist literature," the FSB press service told Interfax on Monday.
The terrorist cell was led by foreign emissaries, the FSB said.
The Russian Investigative Committee's press service told Interfax that searches and other urgent investigatory actions aimed at identifying all members of the organization are currently underway.
"At the request of the investigators, the court will decide on measures of restraint against the detainees," the Investigative Committee said.
