U.S.' campaign seeking to overthrow Caracas authorities fraught with severest consequences - Lavrov

MOSCOW. May 6 (Interfax) - The continuation of the United States' policy toward toppling the legitimate authorities in Venezuela is fraught with harsh consequences, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.

"We are seeing an unprecedented campaign led by the U.S. seeking to overthrow Venezuelan legitimate authorities, we are condemning this campaign as the one rudely violating all principles of international law set forth in the UN Charter," Lavrov said at the talks with his Venezuelan counterpart Jorge Arreaza in Moscow.

"The continuation of this policy is fraught with the severest consequences," he said.
