MOSCOW. May 6 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has spoken in favor of extending the New START and said he is prepared to negotiate it in any feasible format on multiple occasions, according to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
"The Russian president has repeatedly expressed our commitment to extending the New START," Peskov said.
This is practically the only working document for disarmament, he said.
"It's impossible to do anything in this area without the U.S. clarifying their position first," Peskov said.
"The president has said many times that we will be ready to negotiate in a format that is actually possible and feasible," he said.
