SOCHI. May 14 (Interfax) - The level of availability of advanced weapons in Russia's Strategic Nuclear Forces has reached 82%, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
"Today we are beginning the next series of meetings on the development of the Armed Forces and the equipping of the army and fleet with new weapons and hardware. We have made serious progress on this track in the past few years. For example, the level of advanced weapons in the Strategic Nuclear Forces has reached 82%," Putin said at the first in the series of traditional meetings dealing with military matters.
According to Putin, this level has reached 74% in the Aerospace Forces, has exceed 60% in the Airborne Troops and Navy and is nearing 50% in the Ground Forces.
