MOSCOW. May 15 (Interfax) - Russian-Kazakh consultations over the coordination of their defense policies have been concluded in Nur-Sultan, the Russian Defense Ministry told journalists in a statement on Wednesday.
"Russian-Kazakh consultations over defense policy coordination, which were led by the deputy defense ministers of Russia and Kazakhstan, Col. Gen. Alexander Fomin and Lieut. Gen. Muslim Altynbayev, were concluded in Nur-Sultan today. During the talks, the sides analyzed and agreed on the process of implementing the bilateral 2019-2021 strategic military partnership program and the defense ministries' 2019 cooperation plan," the statement said.
The attendees also discussed the transit of Russian military cargo via Kazakhstan and improving the legal framework for bilateral interaction and the functioning of Russian test and training grounds in Kazakhstan, it said.
"The arrangements reached during the talks are reflected in a relevant protocol. The next consultations are scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2019," the statement said.
