Nearly 700 children taken by their mothers from Russia to Iraq return over 2 years - Iraqi ambassador to Russia

MOSCOW. May 15 (Interfax) - Some 680 children who were taken by their mothers from Russia to Iraq have returned to Russia over a period of two years, Iraqi Ambassador in Moscow Haydar Mansour Hadi said.

"We returned some 680 children to Russia over the past two years," Hadi told a press conference on Wednesday.

Cooperation on the return of children continues this year, he said.

"Four women who managed to prove that they had not committed crimes were returned to Russia last year. As for children, they also can return if they have not committed crimes," Hadi said.
