MINSK. May 16 (Interfax) - Belarusian Security Council Secretary Stanislav Zas will be appointed secretary general of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) on January 1, 2020, acting CSTO Secretary General Valery Semerikov told journalists on Thursday on the sidelines of the MILEX 2019 exhibition.
"The CSTO foreign ministers will make the decision on May 22 and inform the chiefs of state about appointing the Belarusian representative as of January 1, 2020, consistent with the decision of the Collective Security Council," Semerikov said.
